Mountview Road School is one of three, K-5, elementary schools located in Hanover Township. Hanover Township is a K-8 district and our students are promoted in sixth grade to Memorial Junior School. We primarily service students from Cedar Knolls, NJ, though some of our families, and our address, have a Morris Plains mailing address. Hanover Township consists of residents in Whippany and Cedar Knolls, NJ. We endearingly refer to our school as "MTV" and are proud of our partnerships with our students, their families and our community.

Emergency and Delayed Openings:
The SwiftK12 System will be activated in the event of a school closing, delayed opening or emergency early dismissal. In addition to Alert Solutions, information on school closings can be obtained by calling (973) 515-2400 after 6:00 a.m. on the day of a weather emergency, or by accessing our district website at www.hanovertwpschools.com. In the event of an emergency due to weather or any unforeseen circumstances and schools are closed early, provisions should be made to receive your child at home or with a neighbor.
It is important that you fill out the Emergency Closing forms and return them to school promptly. Please notify our office of any changes that occur during the school year so that our emergency information is always up to date.
PLEASE NOTE: Delayed openings are two hours. School will begin at 10:45 AM.
Absentee Procedure:If your child will be absent from school, please call the absentee line (973) 637-1554 and leave your child’s name, teacher and reason for absence as soon as possible. Homework may be requested at that time to be left in the office at 3:05 pm or sent home with a student at your request.
Children Safety and Drop Off:
Students should be dropped off or walked to the playground at the left of the school building between 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. Please do not bring your child(ren) to school prior to 8:30 since there is no supervision at this time. School begins promptly at 8:45 a.m.
Please note the designation painted along the curb at the front of the building. This space is now a "FIRE LANE" and you will be ticketed if you park there. Please park in the lot if you are coming into the building for any length of time. Also, please be aware of the new cross walk, at the top of Mountview Road, just before the entrance to the parking lot. Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians please.
PLEASE: NO DOGS ON SCHOOL PROPERTY
