Mrs. Desai's Counseling Corner

Hello!
I'm Mrs. Desai and I am the School Counselor here at Mountview Road School. A school counselor is a certified, trained and caring professional who works with all students, parents, teachers, staff and community in reaching the common goal of student achievement and success. As a school counselor, my role is to support students in their social and emotional development, as it will often intertwine with their academic performance.
As parents and guardians, you play a significant role in your child's education, thus, it is very important that you are all well informed of the services school counselors provide. School counseling services include individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom lessons.
My ultimate goal is to maintain a safe and positive school climate through providing a confidential and non-judgemental space for your child(ren) to thrive and reach their fullest social, emotional and academic potential. If you or your child(ren) have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here and happy to help!

The Week of Respect is a week during which we encourage students to live by the Golden Rule; treat others the way you would like to be treated. This means being tolerant and accepting of differences, using good manners, being considerate of the feelings of others, and dealing peacefully with anger, unkindness and disagreements. We focus on respecting one’s self, others, the community and the Earth. Week of Respect for 2023 is October 2-6. Please see the PDF file below for more information on how we will be celebrating the Week of Respect!
